#55: Classic Metallics

Hello Fashionistas 🙂

It’s Thursday today, two days away from the weekend. How is everyone doing? Here in Cyprus, these days have been extremely cold and many people have decided to visit the mountains and admire the snow and the magical frozen scenery. I am planning on going soon too!

One of the trends that we’ve seen on the catwalks that has been adopted by many Fashionistas all over the world is Metallics. We have seen metallic trousers, jeans, tops, dresses, skirts, coats, furs, bags, shoes and lipsticks. And we have seen metallic shades worn not only during night time and special occasions, but also on casual and sport clothing. We have seen bomber jackets and tracksuit in metallics, while we have also seen maxi gowns too.

I love the fact that metallics are now available in different shades apart from silver and gold, such as bronze, rose gold and even bright colours such as red, blue electric and forest green. Personally, this season I adopted the look and treated myself to various metallic garments; I bought a pair of tracksuit, a handbag, a top, three pairs of shoes, a jacket and two lipsticks. I feel that a metallic piece can upgrade your look and make a statement.

Many of you are probably thinking now that Metallics are only for those who dare and that they are a bit over the top for those who are more conservative. You are wrong. It all depends on how you decide to style up a piece that defines it as daring, as conservative, classic, modern, in fashion, out of fashion, etc.

Today, I will show to you how a metallic piece I added to my closet this season can easily be adapted into a classic look.

This season, I treated myself to a Just Cavalli asymmetrical metallic top in a shade somewhere between gold and silver (it changes depending on how you accessorise it). I wore this blouse at my birthday party with a pair of G.sele skinny 7/8 trousers, a pair of Ego velvet ankle boots with perspex heels, and a velvet choker from Zara (you can see the photos below).

With  the same top I created a more classic outfit by replacing the skinny trousers with a Silvian Heach pencil skirt. I matched them with a pair of Just Cavalli black sandals with gold details and a Cavalli Class clutch again in black and gold details. I completed the outfit with a Cavalli Class print pashmina and a set of necklace and bangle in gold, once more by Cavalli Class.

Do you like metallics? What pieces have you purchased this season? I would love to know ❤

Peace & Love,

G.
