#54: Sometimes all you need is a simple killer dress

Hello Fashionistas πŸ™‚

First weekend of the year! I still can’t believe we are already in 2017, and it is already January the 7th. New year, new goals, new clothes.

Today, I want to share with you my favourite FW16-17 dress. You are probably thinking now, what is so special about this dress right? And why is a dress so special? It is just a simple denim dress. Well, no it is not.

This Cavalli Class denim dress is different than any other denim dress. Why? Because the back side is not denim; it is cashmere in black making this dress two-toned. Denim Blue at the front, Black Cashmere at the back. Apart from this, it has got a zip going from the waist up to the bust, allowing you to adjust it to the level you want it to be; some might want a deeper V-neck while others might want a high-neck dress, whereas even others want to leave the zip wide open and tuck a blouse underneath. This dress therefore, is a 3 in 1 dress πŸ˜‰

Now, it is not just the fabric or the zip that make this dress so special. I love that gold detail on the left of the dress, while I also love the 3/4 sleeves that add that extra femininity attitude to the dress. I also love the split at the back, the length of the dress and of course the fit! Basically, I love everything about this dress.

We all have some pieces in our wardrobes that are extra special to us right? Pieces that are timeless, that no matter how many years pass by, they will always be in fashion. This dress, is one of those pieces. Modern, classic, feminine, chic, versatile, sophisticated, sexy, casual, office, evening, going-out and always in fashion; this dress can adapt to so many ages, styles, seasons and occasions. It is like an LBD!!!

Always aim in having such key pieces in your closets because these kind of items are good investments. Whenever you are in doubt of what to wear, you will always turn to these pieces.

I created a more sophisticated and classic look by matching the dress with my Just Cavalli black stilettos. I held a Cavalli Class bag in a classic design in black leather and animal print, however this bag gave a rock touch to the look with its gold studs and chain. I went for a look that can be worn at the office (with a different handbag) but at the same time it can be worn for a night out for drinks, at a party, and even a special occasion.

TIPS

  • For a more casual look I would match the dress with a pair of high boots, a cross-bag or a shopper and a fur gilet.
  • I would also match this dress with a pair of ankle boots in velvet (the IT trend), a leather biker and a choker for a more rock look.
  • A pair of lace-up sandals or even barely there sandals in black, gold or bordeaux, a pair of gold earrings, a furry coat, hair tied up and a bling bling clutch would immediately transform this dress into a reveillon  dress.

Do you have a simple killer dress in your wardrobe? How is it? comment below and let me know πŸ™‚

Peace & Love,

G.
