Hello Fashionistas 🙂
We are already in the middle of September and the weather has started changing slowly. I love this season for five reasons:
- It is a step closer to Winter.
- It’s the Fashion Week month.
- It’s the season of new arrivals.
- My birthday is in Autumn.
- It’s a season of experimentation with regards to clothes.
September is a month where we begin combining light clothes with darker colours, in order to create more Autumn looks. For example, in summer, we would match nude shades with white or ecru to keep the outfit brighter and more summery, while during this period we would ideally be combining nude shades with black, burgundy, khaki or any other darker colour that matches.
Since the weather is still hot during day time but chilling during night time at least in Cyprus, the first things that we must have in our closets in order to cope with the weather shift, are:
- Light knitted jackets.
- Pashminas and foulards.
- Blazers.
- Thin bomber jackets.
- Shirts.
- Jumpsuits.
- Waistcoats.
- Sneakers.
- Ballerinas.
- Stilettos.
- Jeans.
And since during Autumn we can work with layering without having to wear those heavy Winter coats and jackets, we can easily experiment and create different and various looks as I have already mentioned above.
Truth is, layering is one of my favourite games in fashion because you can change your looks from business, to night out, to casual, to sporty, simply by adding or substracting pieces to your looks.
Today, I am wearing a Silvian Heach print jumpsuit in shades of nudes, pinks and grey. Jumpsuits are so easy and comfortable to wear and can be easily dressed up or down. I could wear the same jumpsuit with a pair of white sneakers and make the outfit sporty, or I could also wear it with flat sandals and make the outfit casual, while a pair of stilettos and bold jewellery would create an evening look.
I am wearing a pair of barely there sandals from Zara and in the first set of pictures I am holding a Cavalli Class nude cross-bag, whereas in the second set of pictures I matched the jumpsuit with a cotton long-line blazer by Apriori and a Just Cavalli clutch in shiny silver and gold, to dress up the look. Note here, that metallics are going to be very popular this season so now, would be a good time to invest on a metallic item (bag, top, shoes, jacket, skirt, etc.).
