#25: April’s Favourites

Hello Fashionistas 🙂

So finally, it’s Sunday and I’m over and done with my final solo recital and with 90% of the written work I have to hand in so I’m really happy as I’m one step away from receiving the title of Professional Musician! So what are your plans for the upcoming week? The Orthodox Easter is also near so have you dyed your eggs?

So today, I will introduce you to my Aprils’ cosmetic purchases and what I love using lately for my skin, in regards with moisturising, makeup, eyeshadows, perfume and removing my makeup at night.

Before I start explaining the products, I must inform you that I never get out of  the house without applying first my moisturising cream, my tinted moisturiser, powder makeup and at least a blusher because I always like being on point with my makeup.

When I get up in the morning, I always cleanse my face with a soap (I am currently using the brand Simple for face cleanser) and then I apply my moisturising cream so that I keep my skin hydrated. I am now using the Biotherm day and night moisturiser for normal and mixed skin, which I recommend to anyone who is looking to buy a new moisturising cream.

After that, I continue my daily routine with the products you see below. IMG_0132 copy

When I went to Cyprus for holidays, 3 weeks ago I visited the best beautician in Cyprus, Mrs.Fotini, the owner of Beauty Salon by Fotini, who introduced me to the brand Jane Iredale as she suggested that I should try their products because they provide full coverage while keeping you moisturised, offering sun protection and also being anti-cancer. The best combination right?

As soon as I started using them, I realised that she was indeed absolutely right, after 2 days I already felt my skin softer and brighter while feeling that I did not have heavy makeup on my face. I am thrilled by how good these products actually are.

So, I start by applying the tinted moisturiser, which also has a bit of colour and can be worn on its own as a sun protecting cream, especially now that everyone in Cyprus has started visiting the beaches. I then apply some concealer by Mac and continue with my foundation, which is the middle one in the picture below.

I then continue with the powder, which you can see in the second photo. Now, the coolest part is that you can actually build your makeup just like you want it with the combination of the powder and the setting spray (the third one in the picture below). You can create a lighter, everyday makeup or a night-out heavier look, and you can also create a matte effect or a glowing effect with the combination of just two products and depending on how you will use them.

I usually apply my powder, then I use the spray to help my makeup settle down smoothly and I then apply some more powder to blend everything nicely.

As soon as I finish with my foundation, I then use my Jane Iredale blusher, which is in a stick form and my base is all set.

For eyes and highlighters, my favourite new product is the 14 Color Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette by Carli Bybel from BH Cosmetics, who is in my opinion one of the best beauty bloggers. As soon as I received the palette, it was love at first sight; it has 10 versatile eyeshadows with high pigmentation in neutral and plummy brown shades that can create multiple looks as well as 4 highlighters that are honestly great. The colours were selected so that they complement every skin tone. You can see all the shades below.

And of course, let’s not forget my perfume who I absolutely adore; Valentina by Valentino.

And now, with this magic glove by Jane Iredale, removing my makeup has become such a delight! You just add warm water and rub your face and your makeup simply disappears, leaving your skin completely clean. You think I’m exaggerating now, but this thing actually works. The best cleansing method I have ever used!
